The New Search Console Insights Report: What Website Owners Need to Know

Google has introduced the new Search Console Insights report, now fully integrated into the main Search Console interface. This update replaces the earlier standalone beta and provides a more cohesive way to review your site’s performance directly within Search Console.

The new report is designed to help content creators, bloggers, and site owners understand how their site is performing on Google Search — without needing to dive deep into complex data.

A More Unified Experience

The updated Insights report connects more closely with the existing Performance report, streamlining workflows and making it easier to act on opportunities. The cards highlight the most relevant information, from total clicks to trending queries, in a simplified layout.

With this new setup, site owners can:

  • Quickly see total clicks and impressions and how they trend compared to the previous period.
  • Review top-performing pages, with insights into which pages are trending up and which might need attention.
  • Track top search queries, including those gaining momentum and those losing visibility.

Key Actions You Can Take

The Insights report makes it easier to take practical steps for improving your website:

  • Monitor site health: Spot shifts in clicks or impressions and take action quickly.
  • Identify rising opportunities: “Trending up” pages and queries show where user interest is increasing.

Refresh content: “Trending down” items can signal where an update or rework is needed.

Achievements and Milestones

The report continues the “Achievements” feature, which celebrates milestones like reaching a new click threshold within the last 28 days. You’ll still receive achievement emails, and over the coming weeks, these will also be accessible from the sidebar navigation in Search Console.

This makes it easier to track progress and recognize when changes or optimizations are paying off.

Availability

The new Insights report is now part of the main Search Console platform. For those already familiar with the standalone beta, the transition means a smoother experience, with all insights and performance tools available in one place.

How to Put These Insights Into Action

Understanding your site’s performance is only the first step — the real value comes from applying what you see in the report. Here are a few ways to use the data effectively:

  • Prioritize updates: Focus first on “trending down” pages, since small improvements can help regain lost traffic.
  • Build on what works: Create more content around queries and topics that are trending up. Expanding coverage in these areas increases visibility and strengthens your authority.
  • Refine your content plan: Use top queries as a guide for future topics, ensuring your content directly matches what your audience is searching for.
  • Track momentum: Watch achievements to confirm which changes are moving the needle and use those results to shape future optimizations.

By turning the report’s insights into concrete actions, site owners can improve visibility, maintain audience interest, and steadily grow their performance in Google Search.
